Account and Data Deletion
How to delete your DigitGlance account and what happens to your data.
1. Overview
This page explains how to delete your DigitGlance account and the personal data associated with it, and what happens to that data once you ask us to delete it. It applies to every way you use DigitGlance, including our websites and our mobile apps (such as DigitGlance School on Android and iOS).
DigitGlance is a trading name of Digitglance Reliance, a CAC-registered business in Nigeria, certified by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). You control your data, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
2. How to request deletion
You can request deletion of your account and data in any of these ways:
- Email support@digitglance.com from the email address on your account, with the subject line Delete my account.
- Send a WhatsApp message or call us on 07043038097, using the phone number on your account.
- If you are an account owner, you can also remove data yourself while signed in (for example deleting students, staff, or documents) before asking us to close the account.
So we can act on the request safely, please tell us the account email and your business or school name. We will verify that you own the account before we delete anything, so that no one else can request deletion of your data.
3. What we delete
When we process an account deletion request, we delete the personal data we hold about you and the records tied to your account, including:
- your profile and login credentials
- your account and company or school records
- the operational data you created in the product (for example customers, students, staff, invoices, payments, attendance, results, and inventory)
- uploaded files and images, such as a logo or a student photo
- your saved preferences and settings
Deletion is permanent. Once your data is deleted it cannot be recovered, so please export anything you want to keep before you ask us to delete your account.
4. What we keep, and for how long
We may need to retain a limited set of records after your account is deleted, but only where the law requires it or where we have a legitimate, time-limited need:
- Financial and transaction records we are required to keep under Nigerian tax and accounting law, for the statutory retention period.
- Records needed to resolve a dispute, prevent fraud, or comply with a legal obligation or lawful request.
- Anonymised or aggregated data that can no longer identify you.
We keep these records no longer than necessary. When the retention period ends, they are securely deleted or fully anonymised.
5. How long deletion takes
We acknowledge deletion requests within a few business days and complete deletion within 30 days. Where some records must be retained for legal reasons (see section 4), those specific records are deleted at the end of their required retention period rather than within 30 days.
6. Team members, staff, and parents
If you are a team member or staff user invited to someone else's account, your login belongs to that account. Ask the account owner to remove you, or contact us and we will coordinate with the account owner.
If you are a parent using a school's parent portal, your access and data are managed by that school. Contact the school directly, or contact us and we will pass your request to the school that holds your data.
7. Third party processors
We use trusted processors to run our services, including our database and authentication provider and our payment gateways. When we delete your data, we also delete or anonymise the data held by these processors on our behalf, in line with our agreements with them. Payment gateways may separately retain transaction records they are independently required by law to keep.
